Welcome to the tusenet project

A project based on cooperation between six networks of Swedish-Turkish municipalities, involving 6 Swedish and 23 Turkish municipalities, and a network between Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR) and Union of Municipalities of Turkey (UMT).

The project is managed by the SALAR subsidiary SKL International AB (former SALA IDA AB), in close cooperation with UMT.

Last Newsletter and further plans

The last newsletter from the project have now been published. The title is "Local Europe" and we are proud to announce that the guest forward is written by director Alexandra Cas Granje from the European Commission's Directorate General for Enlargement.

The articles reflect some outputs from the partnerships and the additional components added to the project during the extension phase; roduction of a Guide to EU Integration for Municipalities, Strengthening of UMT’s capacity to safe guard the interests of municipalities through advocacy and lobbying and capacity development in the field of Gender Mainstreaming. 

This web site will continue to exist as an archive for all the materials produced under the tusenet project life span. We will then remove old material and slightly restructure the site. 

But first, the Swedish and Turkish coordinators will finish the formulation of a new Programme propasal that is built on the tusenet experiences and UMT's stratigic plan. More about this later ...
